The stuation to date is as follows
The ignition lights up with only three lights, Oil, Battery and Brake. The Glow plug light does not illuminate when switched on from cold.
The engine turns over but will not start - I suspect the fuel injector pump not getting power and therefore no glow plugs and no start.

Last week the imobiliser was engaged and no electricals at all worked.
I replaced the batteries in the key fob and undertook the Emergency Key Access. The imobiliser disengaged and still no cab electricts.I suspected the imobiliser 60 amp fuse under bonnet had blown on the Imobiliser circuit but it was still in tact. I did have to replace the 100amp blown fuse (under bonnet) and the 10 amp radio fuse in the cab to establish all of the electricts to work again.

The 100 amp fuse and 10 amp fuses were blown due to incorrect connections on jump starting (leads the wrong way round. Not saying who did this but it wasnt me who wanted a joy ride when I was in England)

Please can you advise me on how to move forward and when the Disco it is running again you can have a ride in the Rockies. Many thanks

The engine does turn over but not starting. My Disco has 3 wires going to the Fuel shut off valve which is covered over with a Bosch box. Pin 3 has 11.4 volts to it when ingition is off and when ignition is in position 2 it has a varible voltage changing from 9.6 to 11.4. Should this be the case?. I am told I can break open the Bosch box which is solid state and just wire 12 volts directly to the fuel solenoid. I still have no glow plug lamp on dash. Any ideas

Hi Guys. Some really good news. I have got my Discovery running today. I worked on tracing wires for the glow plug and found one went to the fuel solenoid. The official Land rover Electrical trouble shooting manual had colour coded the wires differently from mine. I was able to find the fuse and relay to power up. I have the rest of the car now to prepare for a Canadian Out of Province (like our MOT) and then an out of country which checks the car meets the glass, tyres, belts and airbag regulations for year of manufacture (1997). It might be on the road for Summer. I have all the brake calipers to re new along with brake pipes and disc shields. The backdoor needs re hanging, the front wipers do not park at the base of the windscreen and the swivel seals need replacing. I have all the new parts to complete the project This will take me a few weekends to complete. Thanks for your .help Regards Stephen

Well done, I sure that some days Land Rovers were built using whatever was at the bottom of the box at the time ... :)
