Come on folks - she's got a definite offer of £500 but the disco's worth more than that as parts if nought else! Engine and gearboxes are great, tight with no slop or issues & the disco itself is just needing front discs + a bit of welding near the rear seatbelt mounts and front outriggers... Has to be of interest to someone surely?

I'd have it myself if I had the space & could justify having 4 cars all for myself... :deadhorse:

Can you get some photos of the areas affected by rust, the mechanicals don't worry me but don't want to spend the next 3 months chasing round looking for good metal.
Does it have a boot floor
Take it, it needs to be trailered away
I'm in Perth for the next week and if you can get some photos I might want to look over it
Give me a project for the summer

I'll head up and get some pics taken for you tomorrow if thats alright? +
Yeah the bodys pretty solid with just a little rust at the edge of the boot floor & round the arches.

As for how to take it away its not got tax or mot so prob should be trailored but its drivable so if you wanted to risk it that'd be up to you (and it can be test driven on the private roads where its being stored too)

I'd say she should bite the folk's arm off who's offering her five hundrid nicker! Sounds like it's going to need a new floor and arch attention pretty soon from what yer saying...

Its still pretty far off that stage yet tho imo - if its left for much longer without any work it will be, but at the moment its still a fairly solid project for someone with a welder & enough space to patch it up

Its on a friends bit of land just outside Dundee - taking up one of their parking spaces & gradually p#ssing them off... :D

Thats me just been rolling about underneath it in the snow & as far as I can see its the drivers side "outrigger" thats rusty (the bit under the door that one of the suspension rods attaches to - check my limited knowledge shining through) - its still solid enough but the pointy end of the triangle has rusted away where it meets the sill if that makes sense... As for the seatbelt mount area the only bit I can see thats gone soft is on the drivers side of the main chassis where it curves up over the back axle... Standard bit to patch and plenty of good metal to weld to from what I know from getting mine done!

I've taken what pics I could but its not easy when youve got snow down your neck and theres not a huge amount of room! I'm still getting shoddy reception out here but I'll add them to my gallery when I get back home in a wee while.

Its the first time I've really looked & I'm actually surprised the garage laid it on so thick about the state of it - Yeah its rusty and needs patching but its a lot better than some I've seen

To answer the question about the boot floor, its as solid as can be. Took a screwdriver to it from underneath and all the bits I could reach were good. The only rust is where it meets the bumper and thats just surface stuff.

Cant argue with that, if I was looking to keep it myself long term that'd be my prefered option too (its why I'm saving for a galv chassis for the defender) but while its pretty rusty in places its still solid enough to patch up for a fair while imo

Right folks, thats me just been speaking to her there & shes just about had it with no shows or folks just wanting the car for the engine or gearbox n only looking to pay a couple of hundred quid...

Shes made the decision that unless someone comes up with a better offer than the £500 shes already got (or at least shows some serious interest) by Monday then shes just going to let the guy have it.

If anyone is interested get in touch

+

edit - just to add I know James has said it needs a new chassis and I'm not gonna argue with a guy with his experience... It will, eventually - but a little welding and some work on the brakes will get you a cheap runabout that you can rag til it breaks or run til its beyond repair and still have a fairly low mile engine & gearboxes to sell and make your money back on!
