Hi all, I hope you can be of help to me?
I have, maybe rather stupidly, just bought a 1995 4.6 HSE that when i looked at it, was a bit lumpy on tickover, and when revving it. There was a rich smell from the exhaust, but this disappeared when the engine got warm (halfway on thermometer gauge). Heating inside the car was also nice and warm.
My main concern is the lumpy, rough running on tickover (not so much tickover, but when depressing/revving it up). I did not drive it (didn't have time) and was assured the dealer would have someone look over it before I pick it up next week, and if anything major is found wrong, would forget the deal, or knock off whatever it costs to fix. So this I was happy with. The car seems to shake slightly when revving and gives a burbling noise/vibration when revving.
Any ideas would be great. There are no engine warning lights come on on the dash.
*** Just been advised this may be normal as it is a V8? Excuse my ignorance if so, but I am new to such a beast of an engine
Thanks,
Giles.
