1994 Classic "Softdash" Audio Wiring (incl rear sub woofer)

I must apologise for my first post being a question !

BUT

If you want the right answers you got to ask it on the right forum

Here goes - after searching this forum for possible answers I couldnt find the info I need

My Vogue SE with factory fit Clarion PU-8944A head unit has finally gone kaput

Whilst the sound was superb and there are repairers on T'interweb I want to join the Ipod age !
I already have a new head unit with CD changer and AUX input that I wish to fit

My main issue is with the rear speakers and sub woofer

I wish to retain the sub and need to know how to wire the sub using the standard ISO wiring of the new head unit and how will this effect the roof speakers as they appear to be wired through the standard sub amplifier

Any ideas or what have any of you lot done before

Heh, I've had loads of Mk2 RS2000's.

KHD114W, MTU11T, XEM649W, PKD683S, SKY345S, and they're just the ones I remember.

I'd love another one.

Reet, just done this on mine. I haven't figured out how to wire in sub yet either, just hooked up to standard 6 speakers for the time. Need to change the connectors to ISO A and B connectors to hook up, RAVE disk download for the wiring colours, and Mad Hat Mans thread (In FAQ section) about ISO wiring colours for the permanent live and switched live feeds is what I used.

If memory serves me right, Connectors on ISO "A" Purple/Brown is permanent live, and Green/White is switched from ignition.

The sub in the Classic is a bit strange as it expects to have a speaker strength signal and then this signal is amplified again by the amp attached to the the top of the sub. A line signal is not strong enough to drive the sub, it needs more. I am also trying to work out the best way to wire it in, probably need to add a small mono amp to boost the line signal you could then easily attach a volume control to have seperate control of the volume of the sub. My poor dog often sits in the back and I dont want to shake up his internal organs with hugh doses of bass.

At last !!

Somebody else has the result I had when attaching a line-out to the sub feed wire

Everyone else kept saying

"Simply connect a line-out feed to it"

That wont work I told em but they insisted it would work
