1989 RRC transfer box change.....

Hi all.

My transfer box has gone in low range, so bought another which is diff lock, mines not and I was told I may need to source a few more parts.

Apparently the transfer box bracket is different, the transfer box selector is different and I may need to change the front prop shaft???

If this is true, I may need to source these parts.........

Can anyone confirm this please..... I did do a search for transfer box change and couldn't find anything relevant.......

yes its true front prop is different ,as is hi/low difflock lever assembly plus all the linkage ,mounts to chassis,why not fit another borg warner as its the viscous coupling that was its advantage ,when you say gone in low range what do you mean as both ranges use same chain sprokets etc drive is altered through epicylic on input of box ,so should be easy fix,would have all the parts or could give you list

The only reason I am using the diff lock type, is because i'm getting it from a mechanic who is renowned for his quality of parts and service.
He has done a lot of work on my engine for me, and I know he does a brilliant and professional job. The transfer box is cheap, also the fitting is too.
Would cost more to buy a transfer box on-line, and struggle to fit it myself...lol.

It's the only reason I'm buying it. The transfer box has play, so I knew something was wrong 6 months ago when I bought it. It was just a matter of time before I broke it......
