Hi Guys!
First post on this forum.
I have a problem with the wifes car. Its a 1982 two door classic 3.5 V8, which she has owned for the past 23 years.
Just like Triggers broom its had several tail gates, floors, sills, roof and an engine. She loves the car so much she will be buried in it!
After a run and its sitting on the drive cooling down a large puddle of coolant appears on the ground. I have replaced the four hoses in the vee as they were suspect but to no avail. The core plugs that I can see all look okay. The joints between the heads and the block are dry. There is water collecting in the vee under the manifold so the next thing to do is to wip off the inlet manifold and check the pipe work under it. I have a later black valley gasket and rubbers to put back on. The question is: With the original tin gasket the manual says put sealant around the water channels on the front and rear of the heads. But I cant find any mention of doing the same with the later type gasket. So can anyone advise me please!
Thanks in advance.
Dennis.
