Hi, after leaving the old bird sitting for a couple of months I now find the wipers rather reluctant to move and only on speed 2 . speed 1 not a mumur, intermittant, stick pushed down, I can hear a relay click but thats all. Eventually speed 2 got moving enough to clear but if I switch off it doesnt park.
I had a look at the switch but there are no exposed contacts like the indicator has, I did spy a black box under the dash wired to the switch.
Just wondering if there is anything else I can do before taking the bonnet off etc.
Many thanks regards Tim.

Year and model might help.

I would hazard a guess they are stuck and the additional power to turn the motor at pos 2 is enough to get them moving.

+1 - grease in the motor bearings and reduction box has gone hard with age  - time to strip and clean me thinks.

Probably worth stripping and cleaning the whole shebang whilst it's in bits - might need wheelboxes by now - they've done a bit of work sine 1982 :)
