Morning All,

I have just acquired a 1981 SIII Lightweight, 24v FFR.

I need manuals and I've not been able to track any down.

I understand that many parts are standard SIII, but what are you doing about the specific military side of the vehicle?

An original AESP/similar would be ideal, plus a proper parts book.

Any pointers very much appreciated.

There is I believe a Brooklands reprint of the UHB but it omits some of the coverage in the original publication.

There was an AESP series that covered all S3 variants that largely echoed the EMER WV series.

I'm not saying those are all the documents, just what I have collected over the years. Please don't ask me to copy them as it would take what is left of the rest of my life to copy them! Although I don't mind doing the odd page.

UHB & parts lists may crop up on ebay but EMERs are unlikely to crop up.

I don't think a lot of people realise there were AESPs for Rover Series, so there is little chance you would find them on line from an FOI, although you could make an FOI request yourself.

Your best hope for EMERs would be the REME Museum but I wouldn't worry about the EMER POWER series they have contradictions & great voids in descriptions & servicing.

I have made distillations of the POWER EMERs in two articles and included a lot of my own investigations and measurements to help someone through fault finding. It is these areas of screened ignition & 90A charging that can throw up the most challenges which is not helped if there have been ill conceived modifications or repairs. They are the areas of least understanding, the least information & the greatest misleading information.
