19" wheels

Hello all...

Anybody got any experience of fitting 19" wheels to thier P38?

Just wondering if there are any watch outs?

I'm not planning on doing any regular off roading at this stage - although may be persuaded!

I am off roading next weekend and will be running on 19s with Goodyear muds on, so I'll let you know what they're like when I get them on, I know they have to have spiggot rings and different nuts fitted but other than that they just fit straight on apparently

mine went straight on without rings!

I was told whilst they will fit, the shims are to pack the centre out by like 1mm, otherwise the wheel will wobble and eventually work loose, these are rangie sport allys i'm talking about

dunno but mine are tight without the rings, 6 spoke type i think!

its prolly the rusty hubs keeping em on!

Are you saying MTs are available in 19 size?

Yer, apparently they're Goodyear mud terrains, I'll let you know what they're like

goodyear MT/R they are, they don't look too bad, only one way to find out!

I fitted range rover vogue 19" to my p38
had to get the rings for the centers of the wheels and also i ahd to get different wheel nuts as the oones for the 16" dont fitt the rims

this is the rings you need and they sell the wheel nuts to fit the wheels as well

Right, got them on, 19" range rover sport allys with 255 55 19 goodyear mt/r boots on, with the shims and the different nuts went on a treat, the tyres look good, when the eas is fully down on its stoppers the tyres do touch the arches at the back, but seems fine, I'll go and have a play tomorrow and let you know what they're like

Got any pictures and are they OK on tarmac, comfort noise etc

ABSOLUTELY fantastic they are, was outperforming modified 110s and 90s all day, they ate up everything the course, which was quite demanding, threw at them, mud, rocks, ruts, water, everything they just dealt with it, i didn't feel them even hint at slipping all day long, on the road they start humming at about 50 but honestly they're no louder than my hankook road tyres, so i'm getting a set on thursday, 19" 255 55 19 range rover sport allys with theses goodyear MT/R boots on, I am well impressed, the guys in the club with their 'proper' landrovers were taking the **** when i turned up in it in the morning but they couldn't believe it when i started going round and didn't break or get stuck! on saturday with the rain we had she even waded through water up top the door handles! with no snorkel! REALLY REALLY impressed with the tyres and the vehicle, the combination of the two suit my driving style and as i say i'm sold on these tyres, fantastic.
they touch the arches when the car goes down into access mode, but other than that they are clear at motorway mode, standard and extended profiles, they never touched during axle articulation and like i say they just ate the course up, people in 90s with all terrains and bfg mud terrains were getting bogged down a bit when the course started getting muddy part way through the day but mine just ate it up no problem at all
VERY VERY impressed, i heard you CAN'T wade in a P38 but i certainly did! it almost was over the bonnet!

they sit very nicely don't they! I'm well impressed, the shims are definately necessary, and thank gawd can finally get rid of those bloody awful P38 nuts, the tyres really are fantastic, if anyone is interested in my steering guard, or tree sliders, I've just made a diff guard aswell, let me know, I can soon make more if someone wants one

I'd prefer proper money! Should be able to do stainless options aswell, the side steps/tree sliders are made of box section with safe working load of 3500kg so should be fine for jacking the car on
