Evening chaps
Just want to pick your collective brains on experience with fuel pumps.
I had one of these installed
Electric Fuel Pump 12v & FREE In-Line Fuel Filter on eBay (end time 02-Mar-10 15:27:36 GMT)
to transfer the diesel from my 2nd tank to main tank on the 90. Now it seems to have given up. I worked ok for 6 months or so. Ok I did not buy it new, IT came with some other bits I bought to make up the TD5 tank connections so I dont know its origins but it looked like it had not been used.
anyway, what would cause it to fail? I dont think I ran it dry, I have a 1 way valve to keep the pump constantly primed it would however have been dunked/got wet as it sits ontop of the chassis rail under the drivers seat of my 90. Does it matter how these are mounted? I understand that most cars use these solid state pumps to fuel the engine so they cannot be that unreliable.
can anyone recommend anything else or should I try another solid state pump?
any tips appreciated
