120KM dash light??

whats the 120KM dash light for? and when should it illuminate?

i only ask as it doesnt illuminate on start up, or any of the ignition key positions.

and another quick one, when i unlock the car, and open the drivers door, the red LED in the dash lights, and there is a beep, as if to warn me the immobiliser is still on. its not as it stops after around 6-7 bleeps, the car starts and runs fine with no problomes at all.

mick, i think you will find the beeping you are getting when you unlock with the remote i the system telling you the remote battery is low on power.just need a new battery. not sure about the dash light though tim

both the light and the bleeping are to tell you the fob battery is low

the 120 km/h light is the overspeed indicator. Illuminates as a bulb check when the starter switch is turned to position 'II' and extinguishes after approximately 2 seconds. The light will also illuminate when the vehicles road speed exceeds 120 km/h and extinguishes again once road speed drops below 120 km/h.*

cheers for the replys. do you know what size battery it takes? im not keen on opening up alarm fobs without the new battery, i had one loose its code because i dropped the battery and couldnt refit it quick enough.

one more question on the 120KM light, it says "where fitted/enabled". does that mean that mine might not be fitted with it, as it doesnt light up on turning the key to pos II.

it means that it is either not fitted with it, or not working.

I have never seen a freelander in this country fitted with it, particularly as we use mph not kmph in this country.
