hi boys and girls, just picked up a 1998 110 defender CSW 300 Tdi, got a devil of a job getting insurance on unmodified 12 seater:doh:, anyone else had any probs. i'd like to keep all the seats + belts in it. tried adrian flux + wealth of other providers.:frusty: just waiting on a couple of brokers now. appreciate any feedback.
cheers:D:D

i got an88 county 12 seats all belted, just rang my local brokers gave em reg number, told em how many seats... belts were never mentioned..quote came back ... 175 third party..230 fully comp..no problems... it got nicked and crashed... they paid up on claim after inspecting vehicle...

just thought, isnt there a thing about how many seats your allowed in a vehicle if you passed your test after a certain date? could it be anything to do with that?

MINE ARE ****S and it is a motor traders policy so I vhave seven pasenger seats-nfu don't give a **** but my mma policy hate anything different

I have a 110 and i have had no problem with 12 seater and i have been with 2 companies and not had any proplem yet with nfu

many thanks, needed cover in a rush. managed to get cover with 'chaucers' through my existing broker. Spoke to NFU on fri morn, said they'd get back to me after lunch - never heard from 'em.
Got a resonable quote anyway.
Licencing - I've got a bus licence anyway, but my missus don't, i didn't think licencing was an issue so looked up + found this -

Driving passenger carrying vehicles (PCV) on a car driving licence : Directgov - Motoring

Basically over 21 years, 2 years full licence held, no more than 16 seats, not hire/reward
many thanks chaps
