weight wise towing or carrying i meant . both use the same chassis bulkhead etc , the only thing below the cabin that i would think different could possibly be the rear springs so why from a class 4 to a class 7 , or are they that vastly different below the cabin

Don't know what you mean so I'll state teh obvious, ones a passenger carrier the others a commercial:confused:
I think historically the Station Wagons(doors and seats), were taxed as cars and the hard tops and truck cabs were taxed as commercial or agricultural vehicles. Now I think they all pay the same tax but these differences have hung on in areas like MOT testing and LEZ legislation. I believe my 90 hard top cannot enter LEZ whereas the same vehicle with windowsa nd doors, registered as a Station Wagon, could.

Just about all up weight I think. They will have different springs but that's not the issue.

It's not about differences it's about vehicle class a Transit mini bus with less than 12 seats is a Class4 a transit campervan is a Class 4 but a transit van is a Class 7.

Same with 90/110. CSW is class 4 Van is class 7
