110 Rear Shock mount

Ive got to mount some standard rear shock mounts on the back of my 110. The probelm is, the current mount is in the way. I have a 2" lift with pro comp shocks, do you think i would get away with mounting the shock further towards the front of the vehicle?

Pictured below is a to scale comparison of mine against a standard 110. It would have to be mounted quite far out.

The further away from the axle centre line and the move inclinded the mouning (or the less vertical the shock) then the damping effect of the shock absorber is reduced.

Why is it the you want to fit an additional shock to the rear?

Its done now, i ground the old one off. I dont want an extra one ive just had to convert to the standard because ive swaped axles and it would be nearly impossible to salvage the old axles shock mounts.
