My 110 CSW has a 2.8 Isuzu engine. It started life as a 2.5 petrol. It was done about 5 years ago and I cannot remember details. The front exhaust section is rotten. It can be replaced from Steve Parkers. (not my first choice as the price is high) . Has anyone just used a LR section and chopped and welded the top few inches to fit the Isuzu.? The section I have actually looks as if this may have been done. I have no idea if it was a complete section or just a weld job.
Parkers did comment that I should be using a diesel LR mid and rear box to avoid killing the engine. I doubt that was done and I am sure that when I replaced the mid box a few years ago I just quoted the chassis number to the exhaust supplier which would probably mean I got a petrol spec part.
Again I could get a complete system from Parkers or I could play safe and buy a LR spec mid and rear box. Is there anyway to tell if I have diesel or petrol parts,( measurements??) or am I worrying over nothing.
Cash is very tight as is time .
Your experiences please.
