Picking up a 110 crew cab next week and thinking about getting a pair or at least a rear locking diff.
Just wondering which diff to get.

Will be used every day on the road, some travelling through fields on the farm, towing the track car once a month or two and some light off-roading and greenlining.

Won't have the need for an air locker as will rarely need full 100% on or off so reckon an automatic locker is best to go with and let it work away as it feels the need itself :)
Which are best to get though?
Detroit locker (I'm guessing this one will be a mechanical clutch plate diff), Detroit no-spin, Detroit trutrac or Ashcroft ATB.

It's a '03 110 so I presume it'll be a Salisbury rear axle too?

I was thinking trutrac would be the best for a 110 that's used everyday and I can't really see the need for a clutch plate diff anyway as it would probably be once in a blue moon where I'd be on a teetertotter off road where the TC will take care of it anyway.

I have true trac limited slips in mine front and rear. Transform its general handling on and off road. I think they were about £500 a diff to convert.

Cool, Feels the same as having an LSD in an car so. You may not really need it 90% of the time but you can definitely tell it's there and feel an improvement in general driving.

Was thinking the trutrac would be the way to go alright from reading up on them but just wanted a 2nd opinion as don't know a whole lot about LR diffs yet... now, if its BMW LSDs, that's a different story :D

But why would you need a diff locker for this?

I can't leave things alone and the 110 I'm getting has pretty much everything else I want so want to add a few things myself! :)

I have a brand new Detroit locker to fit to my rear axle when I get round to it.
Its been squirrelled away in my shed for the last three years.
Maybe this year ............

It came with my Fender when I bought it and the bloke selling told me it was a spare diff. He gave me a load of assorted spare parts including the locker and a spare transfer box. I'll keep the diff that comes out as a spare for the front.

I also got the Hannibal roof rack and ladder shown in my siggy for £10 which was laying in his front garden waiting for the pikeys to pinch for scrap. Six new stainless mount studs and it was good to go.

Good deal there! The Hannibal racks look great on the 90s I think.
I couldn't leave the diff sit there for 3 years, lol. I'd have it in the night I brought the back :p

Looks like Paddock are the cheapest to buy the trutracs at the moment then?
