Hi,
First ever post as I've finally bought my first ever Landy.
A 1995 110 300TDI Country Station Wagon. Originally White then blue I think and now green.
Anyway, The sliding side windows to me are a easy break-in target and with my tools going in the back does anyone know if you can get a one piece window for them?? Also any other security hints would be greatly appreciated!!

Yep, the locks are that bad.

Security wise you need to be thinking at least immobiliser, disklock, clutch claw - loads of threads on securirty

Separate High security locks don't really work on a Fender - aluminium panels don't have the strength so can just be crow barred open

Doberman in the load space might help :)
 
Staples are certainly a bit of extra protection, but unless bolted through steel 'spreader' plates can be 'torn' through the aluminium panels with wrecking bars

As you say, not that attractive either.

Like others said, Disklock for starters, but most, if not all, landy secrurity tips are for stopping thievin barstewards from taking it, not from getting into it. You've pretty much had it there.

Only thing I can suggest is getting a strong box of some kind fitted in the back, so WHEN they get in to your landy, they will find the strong box a bit of a hindrance. Just a bit of a hindrance mind.:(
 
Easiest way to stop someone sliding the rear window is I should think to cut a length of something strong and jam it between the end of the sliding window and something solid, like the back of the non sliding window.
Haven`t done it on my 110 (yet) but did it to the front sliders on my 109 and it worked (and it was a visible deterrent).
I would get a really good alarm and immobilisier if I were you - I`ve had Toad and Cobra alarms , both were good.
A strong dog guard is useful for isolating the back of the car from the rest of it (so if they do the side windows or the back door they can only easily get to what is in the back)

I think an alarm and maybe black out rear door, rear passenger doors and sliding doors. I'm a plasterer see and i will soon fill the back up but I have 5 children so all forward facing seats are needed but the rear ones are folded up untill needed so a dog guard sound great but wouldn't work for me. maybe the window cages to.
Engine has developed a horrid squeak today. WD40 helped to trace but only for 5 mins. It would seem it's the pulley at the top next to the water pump. Tension pulley maybe?? Would that be grease or replace??
