Still looking at options for my long term project which I'm hoping to start in summer (but hoping to start picking up parts now). I'm hoping to build a 110 crew cab and have some questions.

Is the rear tub on a 110 crew cab the same size as a 90 tub?

Is the chassis the same as a standard 110?

I have a rebuilt 300TDi engine which was originally from a disco but only done 3000 miles since it's rebuild plus the gearbox, transfer box, props, axles and wheels off a disco - will these all go straight onto the 110 chassis? (I'm aware I will need to fit the lever etc from a defender onto the r380)

Are all the panels from the front doors forwards the same on a 90 and 110 crew cab?

chassis is the same apart from brackets and a cross member ,rear tub is series 3 88 size not 90, disco and defender 300 are identical engines, if fitted as lr did it bolts straight in after engine mounts are welded on and gear box cross member fitted ,but you would need 300 tdi tunnel floor plates and seat box or front modding as 300 defenders use disco front prop and transmission is a couple of inches further forward than earlier models

When ordering a galv chassis do they come with the cross member? Do I just need to tell them it's for a 110 crew cab?

Does that make it 2" shorter?

Identical engines ---- excellent

Engine mounts welded on..... Hmm so I need to weld the engine mounts on after the chassis arrives galvanised? Are the holes for the engine in a standard location?

Yes got these

300 defenders use disco front prop and transmission is a couple of inches further forward than earlier models

So the front prop is a disco front prop --- Excellent, will have one of these

Is it a 110 rear prop or disco rear prop.

.... and MANY thanks, this is very useful info. I have a 300TDi discovery which I am collecting next weekend plus a 300TDi engine which has just been rebuilt. Will be trying to buy a galv chassis over next 2-3 months then I can start buying and adding things as I can afford them whilst still driving my 90 around.

yes so you get cross member galv as well, though chassis is identical
if your getting a galv chassis presume it will be a 300 chassis so will come with mounts
110 300tdi rear prop

yes will be 300TDi 110 chassis thanks...

.... and so I will also need to add:

88 rear tub
cab rear panel inc windows
pair of 110 rear doors
110 rear door bulkhead
110 rear seats
roof for 110 crew cab
bottom rear bulkhead for 110 crew cab

Thanks, will do. Not in a position to get the other bits just yet. I have access to lots of spare bits and have already wrangled an 88 rear tub. I have 2 front passenger doors, 1 front drivers doors and 1 rear door and possibly a seat box.

When I get close to finished the doors will come off my current 90 and I'll put them on the 110 with the older ones going on the 90 (as they are 3 months old 2011 spec doors with central locking and electric windows).

I am also building a 110 crew cab and its a nightmare you need to get the lower bulkhead out of a 90 and trill the spot welds out to get the bits you want bit of advice get all the seam sealer off or it wont budge took me hours to get apart blind rivets are a pain in the arse too angle grinder and die grinder needed all in all a pain, mine is ongoing engine mounts welded today getting sent off for blasting then off to leeds galving then back home to daddy to get some parts stuck on,got puma dash but using 300 tdi engine anyone stuck one of these in yet ? was just gonna use disco box as defender ones gearstick is rite under the heater matrix of the tdci dash.

do you have a 110 to start with ? You cant just build a 110 on a galv chassis and transfer your 90 id onto it !!

or if not 110 rebuild you will need to have IVA as a homebuilt , also keep all receipts for parts bought , as you need to account from where everything came .
