er.... shoes on, bottom ring plate and two 3/8 bolts in postiton, pull them towards the cylinder at the top and locate in the slots, ppsition and pull top springs with long nosed pliars in to the either holes or slots, are the tensioners ( snail cams) slackened off when yer doing it?? then before anything, pump pedal twice, to center shoes, then spin hub and adjust up as needed at back of plate !

out of interest has the pin been fitted to the shoe for the expansion springs ( with the hooks on ) some times ther loose and need riviting?

Hi the brake shoes are different to the one`s in the diagram! The locator fitting at the bottom of the back plate isnt bolted!Rivets are used instead. The cams are loosened off,the shoes keep pulling off of the snail cam no matter what is tried! as soon as the drum is replaced and you try to adjust them you can hear them pull off the snail cam toward the drum so no adjustment can take place could this be wrong shoes or is there a retaing clip missing?there is no large retaing ring that locates onto the locator.

could be the wrong shoes, how do they compare to the old ones? did all the relevent parts go on the new set that came off the old ones ? or were they supplied different parts ?

so your no/4 is different ?? you have 3&5 spring fitted , the peg for the spring works off the snail can for the adjustment right ? how are the pegs fitted?

Are they lke this?

The shoes are not the same as the adjuster slots are in a different place on each.

The return springs should hold them against the drum.

P.S. springs fitted behind the shoes
