As some will know I'm looking at a 200di or tdi'ing a lwb.
Apparently the chassis rails are diffo on the 109 making the turbo even more difficult to get in.
Has anyone got any piccies or ideas on how to take a bite out of the chassis to make room for the turbo, I've done this before on a mini bulkhead member to get a v6 in, but i wee'd about with it for ages to get it right, couldnt find a good way of measuring it up, ended up grinding and trying, and grinding and trying, bit of an ache when you got to lower the engine in each time.
Ta.

take some good advise, don't go cutting lumps out of your chassis, if your any good with a welder and have an engineering company you get on with make a new exhaust manifold from mild steel tuning and plate (plates to make flanges) that way you can mount the turbo anywhere you like

yep your probably right, I was thinking about the lag and pipe resonance with an exhaust extension, but I'm applying race tuning which I'm used to but has no place here, the deficit in performance is forgettable in a landy, a bit of mild tube and 6mm plate is a more professional approach.
Top man.

:D i was thinking about completely re-designing the manifold to make it more like that of the defender, another advantage of this is you can fit whatever turbo you wanted, like a gt25 off of a fiesta rs turbo which will give you more available air, combine that with a couple of mods to the injection pump and you are gonna be looking at the sharp end of a 30bhp power gain, then if you run a little giggle gas and some propane in with it you should be good for an extra 50bhp so how does a 190bhp 109 sound

****ing dangerous

but a laugh til it kills ya :D:D:D:D:D

Sounds like a sheared half shaft and the layshaft on the road behind somewhere.
I dont want racing performance, just enough to reasonably accelerate, doesnt even need to be as quick as a deffy.
Is the A/R ratio of the fiesta correct, the TC3 has replaceable ports, a 2 and a half is gonna need more air, and being an oil burner has diffo air requirements.
Anyways I'll stick to the original layout as close as poss, any extra's might blow the 'box is I keep the original that is.
Gettin closer to being a series owner.
Just out of interest, any of you guys souped up a diesel, I've never done that before.
