Hi, is it possible to mount a 109 utility body onto a 109 5 door SW chassis? I'm guessing there's variation in the mounting points but other than that how much of a ball ache am I looking at? Cheers

Couple of brackets need chopping off and a couple need welding on. Nothing to it really but why swap a Station Wagon for a pickup........ I'll swap you mine if you like:D

It's a long story, I'm on a truck building adventure and am exploring options. Anyway I thought that might be the case, cheers for the tip

rob1miles, no not necessarily. Primarily I'm building my dream work truck, although I'm sure it will be used for a few expeditions every now and then.

OK, I ask because converting a truckcab body can be good because you can make a demountable camper body. The Dormobiles were usually on Safari bodies as there is no bulkhead so you can get out the drivers seat and step into the back. The Safari floor is very different to the truck floor. I'm in the group that say if you want a special truck best to start with a truck not a 4 door wagon, I think there are just too many differnces and while you should be able to avoid a Q plate you will always have a vehicle that is not what it was registered as. If you look at the number of S2As that come up with S3 bulkheads (for example) even when they are legit (ie actually an S2A with an S3 bulkhead) there is always a suspicion that they are ringers and drop in value..

Yer I hear you, that all make sense. Fortunately I have finally found a decent 109 truck cab chassis so crisis averted. It seemed every other day a 4 door station wagon would pop up for sale but trying to find a decent truck was a nightmare. I presume they got worked harder so less survivors

Sounds like the right solution. Do some searches on demountable body and there are some great ideas. You could have a truck body and a camper one or a truck and a workshop.
