just got some ring sportzblue headlight bulbs that are 100w(yes i know they is illegal on the road)
does anyone else run them?
will i get people flashing me (lights) even when on dipped beam or will it not be that bad, dont wanna wax them if if im gonna get probs

well i have 2X 60w headlights (60/55wH4) 2X 100w spots on the bumper and 4X 100w rooflights to be fitted when i make a bar good for shooting at night and for revenge on the people who like to play mainbeam wars i am thinkign about getting 2 small lights to fit to the ends on the light bar that point down at the front wheels for offroading at night

Watts is a really poor way to measure the brightness of a bulb... 1000W infra-red bulb isn't very bright at all, you could look at that for hours, whereas a 1000W Carbon arc lamp will take your eyeballs back to the sockets at a 1/4 mile range in about a second and a half :D:D:D:D

I wish they'd put the luminocity of the bulb on 'em instead of the power it uses... we'd have a clue about actually how bright the light is instead of just how quick the battery will be flat if you forget to turn 'em off.

I ran them for years in the 70s & 80s in a variety of vehicles. So long as the beams are set correctly and you're prompt to dip, I had few people flash me.

The high wattage headlamp bulbs are OK if you want a flood light effect , not much good for anything else,(thats why people flash at you) as modern headlights are designed for the filament position of a standard 60/55 you therefore find that the size and position of the 100 or 130 filaments are wrong and you so get a lot more light scatter. you also sometimes get a drop in brightness unless the wiring is heavy enough to cope, relays etc due voltage drop. "power is nothing without control":( ;)
