06 supercharged transmission issue

Hi everyone
Please bear with me as I am new to this,
Have been searching around for some info on a transmission service on the L322 supercharged.
Mine is a 06, mileage 165000
Never had a problem till now,
I have noticed when cold on first pulling away and changing up first to second on the auto box that it’s got a little fierce,
I.e like a jolt,
Then after a while there is nothing, it’s fine, so I’ve had a look underneath and the gearbox pan seems to be leaking around the gasket,
I’ve owned it 5 years and not touched the box, previous owner had it from new and I don’t believe he touched the box either, so today I was coming up the motor way doing 50, kicked it down as we came out of traffic and it seem to stick in gear, revving high and would not change up or down,
I pull on the shoulder, shut it off,
Re started it and it was fine,
So I’m thinking the oil in the box maybe low, as it’s not whining, now fine, but either I need a urgent transmission drain or a full box service if that’s something I can get done ?

That box is over 100k overdue for a service.

The 6hp26 is a good box but it needs a service every 60k.

It's likely the oil is low,

which will ruin the box.

that is if it isn't already been lunched.

I've edited my above post.

No don't flush it just drop the fluid and change it.

The service procedure is involved.

q. @Henry_b ....after 165,000 miles do the gear-teeth come out of the drain hole readily into the catch-bucket, or do you have to prompt them with a bit of baling wire?

After 165k on the original oil you're usually scraping the clutches out of the oil pan

The Sump is the filter.
