I see the TD5 was originally advertised as having an 0-62 time of 17.5 seconds. I haven't formally tested this, but it feels perilously slow when I am on a slip road trying to match my speed to motorway traffic.

Get it remapped and that problem disappears-the difference is amazing

you lucky feckers, mine is 44 seconds.......

however it does 0-20 in a mere 10 seconds :p

2.5na :D

Reckon with you on that one Flat with my 110! though me ol 1200 BMW (apparently a slow German piece of agriculture of a motorcycle) would do it in around 3 seconds.....p****** off and embarrassing many a jap crap "sports" bike :)

And the point is? I think the 0-60 (usually 0-62/100kph these days) is the most irrelevant statement ever made by a manufacturer. A far more important figure for everyday driving is the 30-50/40-60 figures in order to reduce the TED (time exposed to danger) when overtaking, especially on single track roads - & yes I already know I'm an old fart!

14 seconds in a 300tdi defender 110 pickup with 33 12.50 15 tyres just done it only on mobile phone though so probably a bit quicker and its not set up right yet, been tweaking still running slightly lean a second or so can be shaved off hopefully.:D

Whilst Ive been over sixty a few times, I doubt I've ever done 0_60, there isn't a road long or straight enough with in 5 miles, and I'm not getting at silly o'clock in the morning to go to the nearest A road when there is no traffic to find out!!

Not standard V8, but with roof rack, winch and bumper adding weight, and Disco diffs increasing the gearing, it isn't as quick as it could be.

Fair enough, I do pretty well to get my 200tdi to 60 in the 14-16 mark then. Has winch bumper, rock sliders, tools, plenty of sounds proofing :D and sometimes a roof rack. Doesn't seem to affect speed surprisingly just mpg.

got 31" Cooper STT's

Was going to fit a disco t-box but now that i'm probably going to start using it for towing the disco, that probably would be counterproductive.
