From what I have read/seen pics its mainly susp parts ford/vauxhall/nissan, some the lower arms have snapped others the subframe has rotten and split behind the plastic undertrays and of course its rare the undertrays even come off so no sees the issues incl the mot man.
TBH I've never read that. Mine's solid underneath too. Just collected my Focus Est today so the Mondy is going on eBay. It's nice to be back in a Focus, forgot how they corner like being on rails. Very happy with it.

Im not a ford man at all, but have to say they work well, feel nice and are easy to drive with all the controls in what I would call logical places.
Guy at work has a new mondeo every two years, currently got a petrol 1.5 eco thing, ford told him it would do 45/50 mpg, I laughed when he told me, I asked him the other day now its done some miles hows the mpg? he grunted 35 ish! wheras he got at least 45mpg from the previous diesel version.

I don’t like Fords, sure there’s nothing wrong with them but they somehow lack passion and instil no desire in me to own one.

Having said that l owned a Transit Connect for six years and it was a good van, although the 110ps 1.8tdci engine never ran perfectly

I've had Fords for a long time now. I had a V reg Focus Est 1.8 Td first off. It was tremendous and took us effortlessly around France for several years. Then I bought an 02 plate 1.8Tdci at about 16 months old. It was unbelievable! An effortless flying machine that cornered like a roller coaster. It felt like it must have been chipped, but at the age and miles I bought that didn't make sense. I thought, these Duratorque engines seem good! I had three lads and from an early age I thought they must have been bisexual because they loved rugby and cricket! The rugby was great, but the amount of paraphernalia required to make cricket appear a proper sport was phenomenal. The Focus hatchback just didn't cut it. So, I upgraded to a Mondeo Estate. Got an amazing deal on a 15 month vehicle because there had been a body style change. Didn't bother me, I got a 24K vehicle for less that 10k with 9k miles on the clock, it was immaculate
The DMF started going on that at about 140K so I sold it and bought the 12 plate Mondy estate for a similarly silly price from Evans Halshaw. EH sell things silly cheap. So much so I've found they won't haggle, and I'm good at haggling. The DMF has just started to go on thAt Mondy at 148k and so I've bought this Focus Estate 1.5Tdci . I picked it up today and have only driven it 30 miles, but it pulls so smoothly and quickly it's a pleasure to drive. Extremely happy with my next Ford purchase

Another guy at work has a Fiesta diesel, think 2012 Iirc, just done over 200k and recently had its first clutch, 50 plus mpg all day long, ho does 90 miles in it every day.

Guy with mondeo was well chuffed with his last diesel as it came with free servicing as part of the 2 year deal, when he rung up after a year had passed to book it in for service, was then told first service not required until it was 2 years old, so much for free servicing:D

Where I used ot work they had french courtesy vans (citreons not sure what model), then we got fiesta vans and I couldnt believe the difference in build quality, I know french are pant as I owned one years ago, but the ford was a revelation.

Very nice 90!

If I had one of that age, I’d use it daily and just increase the security, as youve done.

I’ve got an Audi A3 on a 54 plate which costs me more in running costs and repairs than the 90.
