I spoke to my mate tonight. He got a 1.6 BMW head skimmed, pressure tested and valves reground and it was just over £200 at Border Engines in Tweedmouth.

:5biagree: Was thinking the same. Having to strip down the heads to do valve seats and then reassemble, fair bit of work doing that. And time is money.

Wonder how much bitching there would be if the head was just skimed, and the a valve damaged a piston? Then this peep would be bitching about a proper job not being done

more to the point... do you not think that this guy is going to want his other 100 notes?

I'm surprised the guy gave him the cylinder head to take away without paying in full - wouldn't happen up here!
