It is illeagal to mix tyres of different construction on an axle, but fook me stick crossers on yer front end an you won't be able to steer

depends on where you live , where do you live?
have you got a yard or somewhere to work?
have you got tools?
what is the rolling chassis from?
what kind of timeline are you thinking about and most importantly , what kind of condition is your land rover in? this is important because a lot of people dont realise how the cost of a re-chassis can spirel out of control when they start finding problems hidden by bodywork.
do you have any pics? especially where the seatbox bolts to the sills and tub , seatbelt anchor points from above and below the body (get under the truck and use a torch) also check and note the condition of the axle casings , braking system , steering system etc.

there are two ways to do this , the cheap , quick way by putting all your problems on a new chassis or the long , hard , expencive way by sorting your vehicle right out bit by bit.
if i were you i would seriousley consider both.

He's hit the nail on the head has Nobber. It's knowing where to start an where to stop spending money and being realistic as to what to replace and what not to replace. And will you want to be selling it at some point or are you going to keep it as an heirloom for the kids.

He's going to keep, it forever !

It's a toss-up which he loves most, the Defender or the lovely Marthe ....
