It might be too soon to use this, but don't get my previous post wrong, I DO want to use them! Ive only really trialled my Series, as opposed to laned it.

The only one I know of, is the road that goes through the woods out the back of Wendover, and Joins the road outside The Swan pub near St Lenoards.

Does anyone know of any others round here?

to be honest mate - there really is sweet FA round here. theres a couple of em in chesham and surrounding area, but that isnt strictly speaking bucks i dont think. bucks is a desert when it comes to greenlanes

im usually in beaconsfield by the way.

you are better off doing what i do - go south to surrey / hampshire area or north to herts, essex, cambs area

hey landie man,
there are a few in the area but not too many. if you repost in the Herts laners thread im sure somone would be willing to show you. Out of interest who do you trial with? Alrc?

Chesham is close by. What's there?

not much in winter coz they close on 1st november i think from memory. they arent exactly memorable lanes. there is only one that stays open year round and that can be about half decent - but its not much more than 1km

Yeah... come on out and join us.... there are one or two open in bucks but not many. Come over our way there are a few more!

Hi there,

First post - woohoo!! I've just bought a stock Range Rover Classic Vogue SE (1991, 3.9 V8) and would like to find a green lane in/around Bucks to get me started in offroading.

I live in the Amersham/Chesham/Great Missenden area, and saw some lanes in Chesham mentioned above - could anyone be more specific and point me in the right direction?

Also, I understand that the Ridgeway that runs past Wendover is, in parts, open to vehicles at certain points of the year (when a TRO is not in place). How do I find out which parts of the Ridgeway allow vehciles, and where do I get onto it at? I've only ever Mountain Biked along it!

Cheers - hope to meet some of you soon!

Hi Mike,

Get over to Herts Laners thread somone will know more than me But I'm sure the ridgeway is all now closed pretty much all year round

Thanks Jai - thought the Ridgeway might be closed most of the time, shame! Do you know of any others in this area?

The ridgeway is almost all closed. There are one or two short stretches that remain open but very little. Phil and I went over that way a couple years ago in the winter and we managed to do everything available in an evening.

Summer time is a little better though. Parts of the ridgeway are shut permanently but much of it remains open to vehicles and offers some scenic little drives. Nothing demanding as I recall.... except one that caused a clearance issue

Thanks for the info Ryder!

So are there any lanes that are open and we can go on at this time of year?

I dont know this one, and there isnt anything I can see marked on the os map

As for the ones around Chesham, it has been a long time since I drove them as they arnt really worth it (I live near Tring so they are local) as has already been stated mostly closed in winter and much too tight to fit a Range Rover down

Same as above... Chesham has one or two... but this time of year you are better off in Herts

Lunch time driving about Tring Berko and that way I found a few byway signs yet to look into them. A couple near Aldbury but I know one of them is blocked by a hige tree and the people owning the nearby house do not welcome 4x4's at all I turned around and headed back because I wasn't in the mood for arguing with them on a quiet Sunday after a comp

Hi Ryder, could you perhaps give me more details on the 'open' parts of the Ridgeway that you went to explore? PM if you prefer! Cheers!
