As for off road, it's the height sensors and the location of the BECM that is just plain stupid for a vehicle that is supposed to be off road capable.

Don't Defenders have their BECMs in the same place though (ie under the seat)?

But you wouldn't want to get your carpets wet anyway though!

Must say mine's never given me any trouble offroading - mud, water, whatever. Perhaps I'm not getting it deep enough!

Use more silicone or stop opening the doors while wading!:D Seriously... never had a problem wading up to and occassionally in excess of official limit, in fact I've taken my Bimmer 3 series deeper than some of you seem to trust your Rangeys! and that's just to get to work. Currently working on ideas for snorkel (so I can present my Rangey as a cost effective alternative to Trident subs... I could just surface and pop the sunroof! Although actually on second thoughts I'm not certain it would be so cost effective!!!)

But to get back on topic, having an idea of where everyone is sounds useful to me, and I'd be happy to help others out if I can. After over twenty years of maintaining my own and others cars I picked up a few hints, but everyday's an adventure with a Rangey!;)

I had a height sensor connector fail due to water getting into the connector in heavy rain:doh: so I would not fancy wading:eek:

Well to be honest I got one too on the way home from work the other night in heavy rain, but it's never been a problem off road. It must be possible to waterproof the connectors though. I'll have a look next time I'm fiddling with it.

Go on, put your location on Google, it will help the poor burglars locate you:eek::eek::eek:

I wasn't intending to put my exact location, just the town! Besides, no self respecting burglar would mess with a gaff round here - its got to be the safest area for miles around cos its where all the little buggers live!!
