Spare wheel carrier on a classic

Is that a standard wheel and tyre you have on yours as im planning a bigger set?

Standard 205 16 - but can't see any reason why bigger wheels/tyres would be a problem

Decided to get a defender one off Ebay and bastardise to suite my needs, will post photos as soon as i can get it fitted.

Ive got got air suspention fitted so sill tanks are out, 7 seats so rear seat tank is out.
Dont want to start messing around with roofracks either,
Ive heard if tanks that replace the 95ltr petrol tank with a 33ltr and gas combined but not sure where to get one.

I had intended gassing my Disco, but like you have air suspension, I was told the petrol tank could be replaced by a gas tank and a 5 gallon tank fitted up inside the outer wing.

found this but a bit on the steep side when you think its another £1900 for the sequential LPG injection system!!!!!

it aint worth fittin a poxy 35l tank .to make lpg efficent you have to have **** loads.Ive got 2 x 70l tanks and it does last ages.with a 35l tank you will be forever filling it.

Its the petrol tank that is 33ltr's fitting the small tank allows the removal of the original 95ltr petrol tank and clears space for a range of tanks ie 2 x 40 litre cylinders 1 x 57 ltr or they used a single 66ltr.

I'll live with mine it doesn't do great distances. But maybe in the future.

Hot Fuzz - did you ever get this sorted? It is a modification I will be looking at making once I have an RRC which I am planning on making into an expedition vehicle - hence the need for more storage space and an easily accessible spare wheel!

Awesome news Khryztal, look forward to seeing it! I may fabricate my own, but not sure how/where the bottom of the bracket will attach?

Are you going for one wheel and single sided, or two wheels and double sided?
