The "i" stands for injection. All diesels are injection.
The earlier 90s and 110s were just called TD or not.
i didn't feature until a Marketing person realised that it was cool.
Sorry mate, the i stands for intercooler, which the earlier 2.5td did not have![]()
Oh. I sit corrected. Ta. I'm trying really really hard to learn all this Landy stuff, and just when I think I'm getting to 2/10 I have a senior moment.
it duz wiv VW but i thort it were diffrent on landys.I believe tdi stands for turbocharged direct injection. Easy to let it stand for intercooled if that's what floats yer boat though.
fookernell Trewey, has hell frozen overmuch as it pains me to say it...
oddie's right.
It will almost certainly be a TD - have a look at the oil filler cap and if it just pulls out (rather than a plastic unscrew jobby) then it is a td. Also if it goes OK then it is a TDi but if it slows to 15mph at the thought of the slightest of incline then its a TD! That year is almost certainly (if original) a TD though, my H reg is a TD.
that's the year they changed (or thereabouts!) - my H is originally a TD but now TDI!I got an H reg and its a TDi![]()
and spend the rest on shares in Exxon!if it was me id do away with deisel and fit a nice big v8![]()
