Going to be hot again. Make sure yer put water out for wild life. Tis a good job eye gottid me harvester wuking. Eye collect 4x the amount of rain eye did before. Helps to correct the lack ov rains.
Truble is you are not supposed to leave standing water around as it encourages tiger mosquito. Which is a real bore as it means I have to fit the water reservoir pump each time we want to use it. The hole is covered by a concrete manhole cover.

I was in Egypt & was touching cloth so I had to go n use one of there drop toilets......chap sat outside covered in flys
giving you loo roll aye 1 bloody sheet, I said 1 sheet ?? he said yes its to clean your finger once youve cleaned yer bum 🤣🤣
Ok so it was inside a little cave with a sheet over the front & it had a hole in the floor with a 100ft drop 🤣🤣
Reminds me of a job I was on in the early eighties. The old boy who was the tea boy and breakfast cooker was a soldier in North Africa during WW2, told us that they were rationed to one square of bog roll per day (the slippy, hard type). They had to tear a corner of the square off, to use to clean under their finger nails afterwards.

Good job.
Can I ask why you are removing it?

J
Yep, the previous owners failed to keep rodents out and suffered with catastrophic power and water leaks. I on the other hand had a regular pest controller out, had the bottom two rows of tiles wired and wire wooled and expanding foamed all trunking and conduit. In addition the roof tiles have been pointed up. Coupled with traps and boxes I have had reasonable success. The house is surrounded by either wheat or sugar beet. One attract mice, the other big Rolands. So it’s all getting replaced and disinfected. Removed circa 20 dead rat carcasses that have been up there decades.

Well I have had quite a day.
Mornng went shopping, nothing new there, then meet up with Dutch friens again nothin new.
Then home and big lunch as we are going out to jazz in the evening, so we got outside bangers and chips.

Then off to the place for the jazz, an hour's drive. Blazing hot and peeps spent all their time trying to find shade.
Being Brits we picked two seats that would eventually be in the shade and waited until the peeps hit the stage. Two guitars, one double bass, brilliant cool jazz. Loved it.
But W got a bit bad in the middle of the last number, squeezed my knee so hard I thought I would lose my knee cap, so off to high tail it home and miss the free glass of wine.
Got home she sorted herself out and went off to bed, then came a ring on the door bell.
Son and grandson appear.
They have been in Andorra celebrating Gson's Bac grade.
W came back down for a bit but wasn't feeling well enough to stay up for long so she shoves off back to bed meanwhile I rustle up a dins for them, get em bath towels as their camping car is playing up.
They had been to Andorra with a Spanish friend. Due to their problems with the gas the fridge had gone foobar, so the stuff in it had melted, so while they were elsewhere, the Spanish friend had emptied the fridge and thrown the meltwater into a nearby river.s
But some one dobbed him in and the poliss descended on them as someone had reported them for dumping their toilet waste in the river!
So mucho explaining had to be done, local environmental health had to be called out to test the water, the poliss had to be shown that the cassette with the human effluent was still attached to the vehicle, etc etc. Also Son had forgotten to take his papers with him for the camping car, a big No-No over here. Also he had appointments with lawyers and stuff as he is thinking of moving to Andorra. So lots of phone calls and pics took of documents to prove stuff. Luckily the lawyers were willing to see him later on. So I have just finished watering the veg by torch light!.

Grandson off to uni in Sheffield.
He is a virgin, has never had a girlfriend and has never drunk beer in his life. Fresher's week will be an eye opener for him!!
So tomoz morn I have to fix the gas on their van before they offsky to the Loire valley. And they'll all gobble down all my croissants!!

Love them really!! ;););):):):)
