nice sig pic landowner!!
nice sig pic landowner!!
Except on an old Suzuki Bandit 1200 where I gained an extra 20bhp taking it to 113bhp at the rear wheel and melted my neighbours ear'oles..![]()
113bhp at how many rpm though? About 9k or so? How much low down torque is there and why are bandits so crap on byways, let alone off road?![]()
who realy caresHi Adz, it's interesting to me that you so blatantly demonstrate you lack of knowledge on this subject on a public platform - but so be it.
Maximum torque on a 1200 Bandit is generated at 3500 - 3800 depending upon model year.
Maximum power is produced at 7,200rpm, with the race pipe on, otherwise it is 6,500rpm. You may also notice that the quote was for power at the wheel, not the crankshaft.
It has masses of grunt at all revs from 2,000rpm upwards.
It has a pwr of 502bhp/ton. By comparison a Tdi Discovery (like mine) has pwr of 55-62bhp/ton dependant upon model and specification.
It is not designed or intended (but is surprisingly competant) for off-road use.
It is more than capable on all tarmacced roads.
If I might offer a piece of advice, comment on things you are familiar with.
Cheers and continued good fortune

Awww... did the nasty man make fun of your girly pink crotch rocket with the 'race exhaust'? Oh how I'm laughing at you... likes to get dressed in skin tight leather and put a big "throbbing thing" between his legs does he?
Tell you what... bring the silly, pointless, worn out in 50,000 miles japanese thing over here and we'll have a "carrying things and people from point a to point b" competition, followed by a "which can tow the most competition", followed by a "who can do most damage to the other vehicle with their vehicle" competition and we'll see which is best eh? Thought not because your prick extension would lose every one of 'em wouldn't it?
The only thing it does better than a Land Rover, any Land Rover, even a Freelander, is "goes faster". Well big ****in' deal and whoop-de-do mate. I've been there, done that with knobs on and then grew out of it. I suggest you do the same.
Not going to bother commenting on "how much I know about engines" because you wouldn't understand the applied maths involved, try this for size:
The relationship between power and torque for a given engine, power = torque times two pie times rotational speed all over 33,000 if I remember correctly.
My advice to you: Va t'encule toi meme!
