First freebee of 2024, I found an damaged outboard in the yard that had been sitting on top of a banking.
Someone had pushed it over with one of the machines and it got forgotten about.
Pulled it out & showed it to the yard owner he said if I want to sell it I'll split it with me...
Quick 700 sovs.....boom

Cow sh::::t And roses come to mind 🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹👍👍

...took the Gryphon electric motor out of the lathe today, was a dirty, mucky thing all belt-drive dust and oil residue.
Cleaned it up and I have found a local (7 Miles away) specialist that rewinds/repairs motors. I spoke on the jelly-bone and he says c.£45 to rewire it from "Y" to "△" so I can run it off my 2200W 220Volt VFD.
I have had excellent advice and guidance from @My Old Landy on here but...... as I have fingers like cow's tit$ and I am very clumsy I think that getting a "profeshunall" to do it seems a good idea.

I am looking forward to the first run of the lathe. :D

So ye have a lemon, honey with ginger n hot water then the whiskey chaser 🤣🤣
Nope, hot toddy, : hot water, honey and whisky.
When it becomes a cold cure you can add, lemon, cinnamon, (aspirin or parrotseatemall if you can stand it) ginger, in fact simply roll your own.
I usually take two paracetomol, or cold cure tabs then have a normal hoeny and whisly toddy afore bed, or even in bed before falling asleep. Think it does me good or at least helps kip. The paracetomol; will help stop coughing as it desensitises the sort of tickle sensors that set the coughing off.

But it don't matter what you do, if it does you good, why not!

I know you'd make yours with rum anyway!!🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣

Haggis n bacon oh come on 🤣 🤣 I will try that on friday :p
You don't know how lucky you are living in haggis country. I love it but can't find it down here I don't think.

Still W bought me a Cornish Pasty today, in Tesco where they have a stall selling ones from the championship winning pasty wrangler from Falmouth. I got one from there two years ago and it were LUSH!
Sitting in the frdge awaiting my attention sometime very soon!

Talking of outboards, here is one of those pics I promised you from the museum in Falmouth.
One of those amazing sort of flying saucers that were popular on the Lakes etc back in the 30s or so, powered in this case by an Evinrude that had to be started by soemone else as the driver was kneeling in it and steering it as it flew over the watter.

top view, you can just see the cut-outs where the driver put his feet!

And while we are here, pics of the boat designed by the Healey of the Healey 3000 and the autisn Healey, which looks a bit like a poor man's Riva, 1600 Healey engine in it.

Being trailerable was important to him!
