iss called a "Breather Cyclone".
I fink it swirls the breather fumes around so that most of the oil droplets fall out before it goes into the air box.

Aww thank you Buster! Have just got off me butt and gone and taken a better picture, which i've emailed to Paddicks. I dint take it apart honist! It was ****ed anyway, someone had cobbled it on with mastic, and when I took it off, you cud see inside and there wer'nt nothin in it cept oil! Heres the better piccie anyways..
