What did you do with your Range Rover today

Today, I just gave it a good clean inside, hope for a warm weekend might wax it for winter protection, what have you been up to?
Today I replaced my front road wheel and tyre due to hitting a 'terracotta' piece of Kerb that the council recently installed but forgot to illuninate or paint. It was raining and dark , I moved towards the centre of the street just in case a deliveroo driver suddenly appeared on my left asthey do around here and BANG, big explosion as the tyre let go. I made sure I hadn't hit a person on a scooter coming from the right. as they do around here, put the Rangey into off road mode and drove the remaining mile home.
Fortunately I had 4 sparewheels and two new tyres already on their alloys available. It looks as if the old girl managed to 'escape' with just a dead tyre and slightly scarred alloy.
Had to use the RAC to change the wheel because I had left my 'proper' jack out of town at my sisters house. RAC Guy said" if that had been a 'normal' car it would have been totally destroyed! New wing, bonnet, front spolier, front suspension etc etc.
I will check the tracking at my friendly garage sometime because the steering seems to pull ever so slightly , although this could be due to the uneven tyres currently fitted because the spare was a non all terrain.
We might curse them, but Old RR's do have a bit of strength about them still!

Sue the council :gunner:

Either way does anyone on ere repair foose boxes. I’m very much on trend where reuse and repair goes. For a geek it’ll take seconds to solder in a new foofoo valve @My Old Landy

@martyuk has done a few, I believe. Given the prices there may be a market for him to do something more. Maybe ask if he wants the old ones along with door actuators and brake ABS ECUs and they can sit in his garage until he has a spare moment and then we get to buy refurbed units off his web-page when the need arrives? Problem is, I have not seen or heard of him since he left the UK when covid hit.

I tried complaining once because a council decided to trial a new, less in your face signage system. Parking restrictions were taken down and replaced with one easily obscured. That was my fault. Apparently
Always check if the council signage is compliant with the relevant bits of the Traffic Signs and Road Markings legislation. They often screw up. Incomplete or lacking terminal plates on yellows but still being enforced is common.
Where I used to live a shoddy yellow line got put in and for several years someone in the area regularly gloss black painted out chunks of it so it couldn't be enforced....

Believe Marty stayed in New Zealand as that was where the work was for him

Finally found something that doesn't work!
I'm feeling better already!!!
There's temp/blower control for the rear seats, blower goes up/down/off, but the temp dial does nothing! Seems to be overridden by the front controls. Regardless whether the override but is pressed or not

I actually won when the council nicked me for parking on grass the grass verge at my mates house as we had done for years after they put up a hidden sign to say "No Parking". The sign was too far away from where we were parking and it was obscured.

The old girl didn't start as quickly as usual a few days ok and only fired on a couple or 3 cylinders before the rest chimed in 5 seconds later. Lots of smoke then ran as normal. Today I got the missis to crank whilst I observed the clear line to the fip, no bubbles but no firing either, eventually got it going but it was close, suspect glowplugs, the light on the dash is working so can I assume the plugs are getting power? I'm on my own for the next 2 days so difficult ,but not impossibe, to check with a dmm to confirm. Whilst under the bonnet, noticed header tank was almost empty, it was fine last time I looked, 4 or 5 days ago. Couldn't see any obvious leaks so with a heavy heart I felt the drivers side carpet...soggy😭.
Only did the O rings last year so probably the matrix fecking fecker..

Are the glow plug wires accessible? Amp clamp on them, turn the key to pos 2 and check the reading.
I've got a fancy Chinese one that connects to my phone so i can still see the readings when the device isn't visible

The glowplug light being on does not mean that the glowplugs are getting power, the relay could be dodgy.

Tackled the window issue. You might be able to see the horizontal and vertical plastic sliders were out of the channels.

Headlight out, pressed it back in the mount and all fixed.

All back in and adjusted to best of ability, will ask the garage to check the beams when it goes in.

All the interior centre console refitted.

Pleased you were lucky with getting the headlight out, on mine the nuts were so rusted on that the plastic holding the bolt broke.

That's in the engine ecu box isn't it? Not with the car at the mo.
The starting issue happened quite suddenly so might well be that or I've had a dodgy plug and another plug has gone down and it's showed itself today, gone fairly nippy here since the last good start 3 or 4 days ago.

Yes, the relay is in the ECU box behind the battery.

I got myself a dc clamp after a recommendation to get one from a member off here, forget who, when I first got her just over 2 years ago. Used it for the first time around a month ago to check current draw on the heated front screen as I had 12v at the screen but it didn't work, turns out the clamp on is faulty and out of warranty feckin fecker.
I'm a dab hand at whipping off the tat to get at the glow plugs so a dmm will suffice to check for voltage there but I'll look at voltage in/out the relay first cos that's easy to get at. I'm more pizzed at the matrix issue, dash out! Got to pop my 🍒 (cherry) some time I guess.
Wish it had done it when the weather was warmer cos I'll have to do it on the drive.
Going to go audi I think @TITCH SANDERS has just done it.
