I know this is an obvious suggestion but have you tried restarting your phone? My daughters iPhone had a similar problem with my last car and that fixed it.

And I mean I proper restart, ie turn phone off completely with about 30secs then turn it on again.

There are some issues with the FL2 Bluetooth and I phones. Unfortunately the I phone wasn't invented when the FL2 audio system was developed, so there have been compatibility issues. Unfortunately Apple is to blame here, which is why I won't have one.
My advice is switch to android, and leave all those stupid I phone compatibility issues behind.

I take it there’s no workaround solution then, being an Apple snag
Great… F U Jobs! And all your fruit based tech.
There have been some I phones that work, and others not. It's something to do with permission on some software versions.
For me my phone needs to do what I want, not what the manufacturer says it can do. It a bit like buying a car, then only being able to drive it to locations that the manufacturer allows.
I've had an I phone, and got fed up with the way it was just so restricted, so went to Samsung android instead. Android isn't perfect, but it's much more versatile that Apple.
