Nothing done yet, but dust shields finally arrived at LR dealers. Now just got to get them and rear bits can be done

Yesterday I installed my $1,000 driveshaft expecting it to cure my drivetrain vibration but nothing has changed. At least it was a fairly easy job and now I don't have to worry about the driveshaft .
I still get the same vibration after 10 minutes of driving, the impression that something is out of balance. Will have another look at the rear suspension but I am afraid I will need to take it to the dealer.

Mike has been in touch all his water works now in working order just that he is suffering from low blood pressure. Good nights kip me thinks and everything should be sorted

why do some (newer) cars, have a camshaft position sensor and also one for the crankshaft?
one is directly connected to the other, either by gears, chain or belt
is it to deal with stretch/wear etc?

My 200tdi tratter has both and the battery charge and oil pressure lamps on the dash warn of this. both come on when the Cambelt snaps to cheerfully warn me that the crank and camshaft are no longer in relative positions to each other.
Dunno where the actual sensors are though, prolly some where on or in the injun.

Maybe it's to do with the variable valve timing employed on many modern cars

Had the rear ashtray out today to clean it all up , 2 screws (p38 btw) hold it all in, it's in two parts, the underneath the top part errr..part is incorporated a cover for the springy thing that lifts the cubby lid. I got a new gas strut for Duchess as it wouldn't lift the lid up and I thought that was the culprit. Although it was better, the lid still needed lifting to open fully. While the ashtray was out, I put a few drops of light oil on the tubes that the bar runs through ie- the hinge, and it springs up luvvly now..
.Is it to do with which 1 needs squirting and pinging next, rather than just the engines turning

Emmissions, power and economy.. Diesels are finished. Donkeys I tell you are the way forwardBut so much less fuel efficient
if we simplified everything and shopped nearer to home the pollution would drop and if things were built to last longer serviceable there'd be less productivity and money saved for most. Unfortunately we have to cater for everyone but not everyone can be catered for...
