Discovery 2 (Swap) Good Disco 2 V8

Hello all.

Just testing the waters really, thinking about a series.

My Mrs and I are now going to move to the canaries end of the year (ahead of schedule). I was going to keep the disco and maybe even bring it with me to the island (see loads out there), but realistically it’s not going to be my daily drive there so I could have something more “impractical for the mountain roads, say with a canvas roof for all the sun haha”

it’s a 2003 V8 Adriatic blue Auto, just over 100k, running and changing great. Very tidy and straight, interior great and very clean. Running boards and 2inch lift. Just replaced the headlining, removed the faulty ACE system, converted to Coil springs, full cream leather, and….everything works, heated seats sunroofs, cruise control, AC you name it. Only thing I know about is an issue with a coolant leak I haven't been able to find yet, it was inspected at the garage and no obvious head or valley issues, runs cool and clean on the ultra gauge (see the pic) so can’t be major nor is it much. Still looking so may not be an issue soon.

Will eventually have to sell her realistically but wanted to know if anyone had an older series or something and just fancied a change or a daily, not sure what it’s worth but I see worse for 5K online (not sure what that means).

Let me know what you have if you’re interested would need to be a runner and not major issues.

Yeah I haven't done much about selling it yet, I was going to advertise it this weekend but got busy. I think around £4500 it's very original asides from the upgrades like the coil springs, uprated steering damper etc. I have done quite a lot of miles for work since buying it in June, and it's always been reliable and comfortable.

Sorry only just spotted this. I did it myself.
I just colour matched the interior with a company that sells the kits, then took it all out and stripped it all off, then myself and my brother applied it carefully. One of use sprayed and the other layed it from the centre out.

Wear two pares of gloves, if you get glue on one you can wip them off and keep applying. It's time critical.

Blimey, you did a cracking job of it! I didn't know you could buy the kits, so you're just talking about the top layer of fabric, that sounds better than my double sided sticky tape idea
Did you remove the headlining out through the boot, or do it in situ?

Haha yeah looks better than pins or tape.

Yeah can't remember the company but they sell a roll of your colour fabric and enough spray glue to do the job, do a Google search and they appear.
Follow a YouTube video to get it out of the rear (it's a litrle fiddly and need two people really). Then strip all the old **** off, and the long dead backing that will be like dust on your head lining board, time spent here is the key.

Then raise the head lining board off the deck (the material will overhand), spray on 10% areas starting in the middle in the centre, then apply in the centre and work out, be aware of the bends and push the material hard into corners.

When done, cut of the excess from the rear and remember to fold over a little in places but not the front a pillars of I remember.

DO NOT unpeal when it's applied, the backing will separate and you will damage it.

Or pay someone on eBay like £300 to do it (the advertise there)

It's not that hard, just work steady and think it through.
