Just makes it very slippy for a while.
" It is true that petroleum products will degrade natural rubber. But if an o-ring is made from, nitrile, for example (a material used in car fuel and oil lines) then there is no problem using petroleum grease to lubricate the o-ring."

Having done a bit of research it appears more complicated than you'd think but Red Rubber grease seems to be the safest option.

There's salt in fairy liquid? Every day's a school day here. To soften the water I suppose.. o_O
If I remember creckly it is there purely to thicken it as the consumer will believe in it more if it is thicker.
I'll check.
Shockingly, although there is "Salt" in it it isn't allegedly a problem.
https://www.morebikes.co.uk/how-to/3729/can-clean-bike-fairy-washing-liquid/#:~:text=“Washing up liquid does contain, chloride' bit of the salt.
And what there is is not there to thicken it, that is lauryl sufate ot summat.
So I seem to have been swept along in the general feeling along with every one else.
But I'll dig further.

Oh and Sh!tfurnitureland say they have refunded the money via Paypal, which they said they couldn't do initially.
AND that they wouldn't do as we have now involved the credit card company.
They really can't make up their minds what they are doing.
But at least they have now made a written statement which involves words stating they are/will/want to refund the money, which they hadn't done before!
As I said to them in my email, I'll believe it has happened when Paypal tell us it has happened.
But it is at least a big step forward.
:):):)

Great outcome happy wee day then. :):):):)

Just interested in the model of Mini cos I haven't researched yet so am still wondering if one had a turbo as so many cars do now.
The S always did seem to be the Dog's doodahs when it came to Minis so if the new one ain't like that just wonderin if your missus just likes the look/spec of the new one or if she don't trust the old one, ain't that bothered about pure performance.
Or is just plain sick of it not workin at the mo!
Pardon me for being intrusively interested.
(I'll rein my interest in.;);))

No dont be daft :) I could see she was getting peed off not having a car to scoot about in, now she
isnt keen on getting the bus also she has always had bigger cars n jeeps & loves having a smaller
one to zip about in. She likes the look of them plus this one has full heated black leather with a new
9" andriod system which is cool.......

And I can now see that some did have a turbo, which kinda negates my statement about the supercharged one being the quickest, possibly.
I can see that she would like the heated seats and the Android thingumabob. Wifey totally loves her DAB radio,
Many wimmins are more interested in the superficial gubbins and less interested in how it goes down the road, as long as it gets her from A to B in comfort.
And at the end of the day the colour is the most important thing!!!;););)

That takes some reading o_O My first car was a Mini HMS 201S  Haha what fun that was. :D:D
My first two cars were Minis, an 850 cc De Luxe, white with a black roof, lost my cherry in it too!
3 numbers then VNY, 1963 MY. Sliding windows and feck off big door pockets. Loved it!:):):)
That one had a great engine but was rusty as heck, so I got another sounder one and started swapping bits over from tother. Guess that is where my proper car mechanicking began, up till then I'd only worked on my mate's bikes.
The second was a grey thing so I painted it yellow with matt black bonnet, roof and boot. It looked like a bumble bee!
Drove them both like a total maniac. Used to heel and toe double declutching coming up to roundabouts etc, in 70s stack shoes.:eek::eek:
Don't know how I survived. Crashed the second one into a tree.:(
Didn't get another for donks until that one I "Coopered"with the MG Metro engine which really was quick.
I'll always have a soft spot for them. My grand son the one whose training to be a vehicle technician with the RAF bought an old mini in bits, put it together and got it running. I gave him a lot of books etc and he rang me occasionally when he had a problem. Still has it but won't drive the stupidly long distances, for a Mini 1000, that he used to do in it. They are fecking uncomfortable, and noisy!
But nothing handles like them. :):):)
