Headed for Formby, hit the M62 and got EAS fault alert. Checked everything at the services, nothing obviously blown or failed, substituted relay but no change. Decided on discretion and headed home.
Home, Nanocom reports fault message of compressor failure, yet it can also force it to run. All height sensors about 10 below access target value so glad we didn't push on.
Now to figure out what is up with it and fix it.
Worn out compressor?

Fitted an x8r overhaul kit a few weeks ago. Nanocom reports thermal protection good, so from some forum searching I'm guessing the pressure switch will have failed.
Starting with checking thermal protection and pump output first though.
On the plus side the engine was sweet. Only second drive cycle from cold after resetting the adaptive values and although he dipped low he didn't stall when pulling to a stop cold, previously he'd have stalled every time in the first half mile or so.

Have you checked the pump connector blades, mine packed in a while ago due to burnt blades,a quick clean sorted it out.

Pressure switch is I think unlikely but easy to check.
You can force the pump to run, but that does not mean it's making pressure.

That's brilliant...
An addition....
"If you brought cheap parts from eBay... F*ck*FF !!"
Remember a customer bringing his MGB and a three piece clutch kit and asked me to fit it which I did. The car still slipped in high gears so he brought it back with another kit and asked me to change it. Exactly the same outcome. He was rantings and raving about the quality of the parts,I pointed out that there was nothing wrong with the original clutch so he decided to let me test drive it(for the first time) I must add. He wrongly diagnosed the main clutch when all along it was the overdrive clutch. Trying to save a few pounds cost him dearly.;)

I had a MGB Roadster years ago, the overdrive on it was useless:eek:
