Hello folks, I would be grateful for your advice. I’ve got a 2007 Freelander 2.
I need to put one of those Flettner roof extractors on for my working dogs, positioned over the boot space where the cages are.
The thing is, I have to cut a 95mm hole in the roof. Are there a million wires under there or is it relatively safe to go ahead?
Many thanks for any help.

I'd not be cutting any holes in the roof.

I'd be removing the rear boot panels, and installing a fan in the norm air extract vents instead. ;)

Thanks for that Nodge, That would be no good mate. I already have high power 12v police dog van fans in the interior. Search dogs sometimes have to spend all night or many hours in the back of vehicles. A fan such as the Flettner that works on perpetual motion rather than electric is the very best option. I’ve had them on all my previous Volvo estates with no problem.

Here ya go, this'll sort it for you.

Also remember the FL2 roof is not flat but ridge, so how will you make a leak free seal ? would not be easier to add a fan to the side glass somehow.
