Stiff Clutch

Clutches tend to get harder as they age, its just that land rover ones are to hard to start with!
Being 2012 it might still have the original clutch fitted?

Tdci clutch pedal is probably one of the lightest of the defender clutches. But it is still heavy compared to any modern car. You will get used to it. And hate it if you do any stop-start city driving.

Depending on the spring configuration they are very highly spring if using the single coil spring from pedal to bulkhead. You can fit a different spring which reduces this tension depending on what you have currently

Thank you

Yes I think it is the original clutch

Clutches get stiffer as they age - at least partly due to the clutch fork getting worn... it's "normal" ... Possibly due a change anyway ....

LR clutches are very heavy from new IMO.

I servo'd the clutch on SWMBO's D1:-

I had previously emailed red booster to ask if their ( very expensive kit ) would fit - they didn't even reply ... so, IMHO, forget them. IIRC it cost me less than a quarter of their price

Thank you I will look into it

Didn't the TDCi Defender have the clutch pedal assist spring fitted as standard?

l know it was fitted as standard to TDi versions, it was just the TD5 that had a ruddy great coil spring on the pedal.

Piccy in the attachment. I think this is the "easy" type spring which is fitted.
