Dark, damp and miserable - and that's the weather.

The oil man arrived at 5pm yesterday, phew! It was dark and he said he would not 'ave come so late if he had not known that my entrance had been enlarged to make his delivery easier in the dark - he was grateful it had been done.

Still no report about my overlocker :( but I suppose no news is good news - my fingers are crossed.

Today's conundrum is where to take the dogs for their daily walk! Everywhere is soggy and tree laden and in this wild weather I do wonder if it is safe to go anywhere near any trees.

It does seem to have been a long week and we are only just about half way. Still, that's no reason why we should not all make the best of it and try to enjoy whatever we 'ave planned.:) Stay safe in this very wild weather.

I did a google search on overlocker fixes (and there's lots). Is is truly "broken parts" or just out of timing or...?

It has been in storage for a few years - well protected - and seems to have suffered from its little holiday as it has seized up! It is not young (bought in '94) but has had very, very little use. The huge temperature changes it has had to endure in a storage container seem not to have done it much good.:(

Ahhhhh... usually (if it was working before) the problem is that the lubricants all dry up because of accumulated cotton lint.
I have mended several sewing machines that were "jammed"/"Seized" because of this.
I would recommend a gentle clean out with some gentle solvent (I think WD40 or paraffin is fine) and the removal of all the lint. Then try gently moving the thing gently back & forth, if it loosens it won't take much to tell if there is an improvement. They are mechanically timed devices and as long as nothing has come adrift/out of time, this should be OK. Once you have it moving again, a light oiling to keep it on the move. :) Good luck!

What little lint that was there was removed - it was hardly used, I did test to see if the motor was active and yes, it is. Being a 4 thread overlocker it is far more complicated in the gearing than a normal sewing machine is, unfortunately, and as I am not sufficiently confident on the mechanicals then I have sought the help of an expert! About 15 years ago he repaired another of my small sewing machines and I bought a completely refurbished industrial machine from him too, so I am confident of his 'magic' skills. Keeping all my machines in full working order is rather like owning Land Rovers - there is always something to be done/bought etc. :):):)
 
I'm all booster-jabbed up. Pfizer this time.
Wifey reports her arm is sore. I can't say I notice that mine has even been done. :)

Yes, my 2 originals were AZ, so I was surprised to be offered Pfizer only. My thinking was that if you have had no adverse reactions to the first 2 why risk an alternative? But they said all AZ are finished.

I'd second that as I too have had to do this for Wifey's old one. A little lube and clean is usually all it'll need.
Like lots of machines, using em keeps em going!!:):):)

I wonder if they are keeping quiet about peeps like me. Seems to be happening more than is made public.
But this is only according to my middle dottir who if she only half-knows has a tendency to make the rest up!!.;)

Anyone getting the feeling that Microsoft is just a licence to print money? Or to help other pooter manufacturers print it as well? I think they all p!ss in the same pot.
So I'll keep my own pooter as it is, Ta!:)
 
Afternoon folks:).

Well temps have defiantly gone down last couple of days and it has been very mizzy oribble today.
Got the wood sorted to start the "west wing" ceilings, must get this started so we can have a recount of ****ters/showers:eek::rolleyes:.

Good to see @Shimsteriom back:). We have missed the Pizza critique:D.
