Well Wifey had a successful day with the auction, all done while enjoying lunch with her mate!! So her Christmas pressy, well another one of them, is now secure!!
I found my blessed old Disco 1 head unit. Compared the beggar with the one I am waiting on bits for.
Jeeez! all those coloured wire fings coming out of the plug things.
Gawd! I thort I'd just sorta plug it in and go!
No chance.:(
Yet when I took it out and put in a Blaupunkt after market one, it worked right out of the box. (Well it weren't in a box cos I saved it from a Citroen Xsara Wifey wrote off. So i kept it cos it had a good CD player.)
Apart from struggling a bit to reuse the LR wiring to the CD player, It works fine, in the D1. Din't have to change the wiring to the plugs at all.
Realise now I might just have been extremely lucky.
Hope I am just overthinking it all.
Bet that by the time I've worked it out the drive-band will have turned up!

You should be able to get an adapter harness which plugs into your head unit and connects to the plug(s) in your vehicle. Got one to connect my alpine head unit into me tratter.

....that watching "Match of the day" with the sound off, cos the telly if fecking crap and I am happy typing away on this thing, that when I look up it looks just a bit like slightly animated Subbuteo.:D:D:D
I loathe football, crime though it may be to some! But the snookah's finished!
Too early to go to bed so I'll have to see what we have recorded on the Humax box. ;)

Yep prolly could but this is supposed to only be a quick, temporary measure until I fix the normal head unit, as it works the CD player which I love. Don't think my old LR one would although yep, it did connect to it's own LR CD player. Don't even know what make/model the old LR one is.
If I can't fix the Kenwood I might well do as you say! It did also drive a subwoofer which I ain't got in this D2. It came from an Anniversary model so I think it was quite good. I liked it until the CD player bust.

I loathe football,
I very rarely watch premier league football, can't get into it. But I will watch games from the lower divisions and follow a league one club since I were a nipper, watch all their games when they get streamed. The game is much more grass roots and entertaining than the top flight stuff. And that englaland wimmins game earlier this week was something else ----

TBH I can't get into it, and if I did Wifey would turn her nose up at me watching it. I have to watch snooker when she has gone to bed. We don't watch any sport really.
But glad you can find summat to watch that is entertaining for you. :):)
We much prefer Repair Shop and all that sort of stuff. She is very hands on with knitting, sewing, patchwork, quilting, etc. And I like fixing all sorts of stuff, have done up quite a bit of furniture in my time. Also we buy stuff from auctions that often needs a bit of repairing and cleaning up. You do pick up the odd, rare hint or tip from these progs. And it is nice to see them using the techniques we use. Like using a mix of acetone and ATF to free off old rusty parts!!;)
