Couldn't you do some of the work yourself mate
If I wasn't lazy as ****, if it wasn't so cold and if I didn't have a cement mixer in the back garden to building a pile of walls... I'd maybe consider it for a few seconds.

Mind you, I could probably fix the compressor myself if I bought one or got a refurb kit. Haven't actually googled the latter and that might be a good idea.

Once you've got the compressor off you can take it in to the warm.:D
 
And with the money you save you can pay a bricklayer, they're used to working in the cold.;):D

I've been through 5. 1st didn't turn up and then blanked me. Second didn't turn up. 3rd turned up after 2 weeks of excuses to lay the concrete founds.. Then had loads of excuses (like last minute drive to Newcastle to sell their car.. Instead of being at mine) . 4th was stupidly expensive and 5th was the first.. Who then decided not to turn up again despite communicating with me 2 hours before he was due.

So, doing it myself and while it's a lot slower, its getting done.
 
That's what I'm edging towards - are they interchangeable i.e. AMK or Hitachi?
Has your current one an OEM item or do you think it has been changed in the past?? I would be highly surprised to find any P38 that still has its factory fitted compressor or are we talking about your new toy??? I always thought Dunlop were the original item like the airbags albeit i could be mistaken. Having given up on the P38 after 3 failed attempts to have one i now have my glorious L405 instead.

It's his new toy he said his f f as in full fat.;):D
 
Got the bonnet soundproofing on again - the clips were a b'stard, especially at full stretch.
Connected the washers again.
Wife carried on trying with the seized bolts in the heatshield spacers for the passenger side exhaust, but I think I will probably end up making substitute ones.
She also finished the first rocker cover paint job. Are we going too bling do you reckon?

Compressor just to replace is 5 mins, Top cover off, couple of bolts no access problems and the outlet connection. A rebuild is a an hour if that..
