L322 Engine ECU query

I'd of thought your ecu would have been tested first?
Were the earth's checked around the car? Even the one under the front right wheel arch?
For what it’s worth, my earth strap connection looked good but was actually corroded on my dead L322 and wasn’t discovered until it was undone then cleaned and done back up. As if by electrical magic the car came back to life. Unfortunately, It took two weeks and I was £800 poorer but happy i had the car back. Sometimes it really is the little things that cause the biggest problems. Have all the hard wires been checked because a local mechanic once suggested wriggling the harnesses to detect a possible broken wire, sounds a bit rough but he was serious. Good luck.

I kinda thought he’d’ve (the mechanic bloke) done that to be honest, now I’m thinking otherwise. I could get all upset n angry that the fix hasn’t worked, but after nearly 40 years of owning cars I’ve realised that doesn’t fix it either.
Like I said though, bright side, ecu appears ok.
Will delve in myself now I think, and the first things I will check are the earth connections as you suggest.

No problem,
Under the front right wing, remove the plastic arch from inside and there is at least one heavy earth post under there. A client had no radio and a ruined battery with low charge current. The earth had started to heat and burnt its contract. A good sanding down and some copper grease put an end to it. ;)

Thanks so much mate, been tearing me hair out searching online trying find the actual location of it, and any others that are hidden away, but to no avail.

You'll do this and be glad you did.
Mega complicated car that everyone wants and not everyone can look after. They get a bad name from bad owners that don't look after them and sell them with hidden issues. Then we buy them and get them up and running properly again. :D
