What did you do with your Range Rover today

Ordered a new set of tyres. Only 2 choices round here (255/65/16 not a popular size apparently). Bridgestone or Yokahoma. I went with the Yokas because they were nice looking AT tyres and 50 quid a corner cheaper.
Now just to get a VCU and all will be good in the world.
 
5-6 years:eek: I'm lucky to get months out of mine, took the Boss to the local market yesterday and I think I caught a whiff of diesel, something to check:rolleyes: I'd put it in the safe if I ever got some that lasted:D:D
Maybe I've just been lucky. Local motor factors still sell it at £5.75 for 1metre length. Specifically says for diesel spill piping on the packet
 
And pray where is the fun in not having unexpected stops now and again:D:D

problem is my own personal list of what I want to do is far greater since.
And I’m never doing a windscreen again!

Problem for today is my battery box got obliterated some time ago, now have new clamp (thanks Alan) but rod doesn’t reach??

As you can see it is still bent, maybe the end snapped off? Not case of bending theclamp - the rod is below the battery?
If I push down on it feels like it pushes against the arch liner but won’t come up. Not taking liner out til I have fluid to do Bix’s calliper.
Still soaking the rear UJ and scraping the crud out as it’s eaten away by the penetration fluid. Got set of 4 new circlip pliers, one for every clip :D
 
Several hours leaning into the bay with scraper, rags and solvents to get the block clear of used gasket. Looks like a tiny dimple between 2 and 4, probably from the factory but we can't get the block out and skimmed. So it will be back together as is and hope for the best. Unless anyone knows of a suitable filler for that sort of nick? We still think it was a jammed open or clogged injector that caused the issue though and that was just the weakness that succumbed.

Have you tried some wet and dry wrapped around a piece of flat bar or similar, brake fluid is a good lubricant as recommended for use with a cylinder glaze buster.

Looks like the old rod has snapped. Mine stands a good inch or so above the battery and it is quite a chonkster.
If you stick your finger in the circlip when you remove it, you're less likely to have to fly across the universe and try to take out your eye. Same for refit.

Oh, check the grease nipples on your UJs, mine were quite long (GKN I belive, "borrowed" them from work) and I snapped one before I realised they had to be removed from the UJ before trying to fit them. The old ones were low profile and didn't cause problems when removed so I just switched them over. Bit harder to grease, but heyho.
