The 90 that I am currently driving has van sides which make the blind spot even get than usual. I am looking to replace them with window sides and want an opening window. I have seen these for sale at a very reasonable price. But the windows are currently removed (make it easier for painting so not a problem)

What is involved in refitting these windows? Does it require any seals, the chap selling them has said he has no seals for it. I know they rivet in but not sure what else is involved.

Sikaflex & rivits. That how my truck cab window was done
Great if it is that simple that makes it very easy. I didn’t know if there was a rubber seal or something. The ones I have in my 110 are fitted with rubber seals similar to the windscreen so was not familiar with the rivet on version.

Mine were fitted by the previous owner and were riveted in with a thin bead of sealant. No leaks, just rattle from one of the glass panels which needs a new window channel!

Well that leads onto another question then. What are the window channels and can you replace them? I have done the felt in military door tops is it similar for these or is it molded plastic channel?

I’d have to have a look. They don’t seem as bad as those fitted to series door tops and hard tops so mine might just be missing one.

They are felt.
Not changed them as these side windows are the same as a truck cab rear window. Mine rattle a bit with the felt removed but makes opening easier. As I have no direct wind/rain they don’t leak either.

Ok that is good news for me, if it is just a case of replacing the felts in the channel I have done that on my military door tops so am happy with how that works.
