This one has got me stumped. I’ve done the usual searches and just ended up more confused. I recently hitched up to a trailer, plugged the electrics in, but no lights worked on the trailer. I lifted the boot liner to trace the wiring and found a disconnected plug. It’s not the Land Rover plug and play type, it’s a small box type thing. Anyway, I plugged it in and the trailer lights worked. Happy days, I thought. However, once I was unhitched I found that my reversing sensors didn’t work. I unplugged the plug again and my reverse sensors started working again. Any ideas about what that’s all about?

Maybe the box is broken or not wired in properly?
It should disable the reversing sensors when you have something plugged into the trailer electrics to stop the car beeping at the trailer

The FL2 requires a specific towing module be fitted, and the vehicle be programmed to tell it there is a trailer fitted, otherwise things go wrong.
Someone has obviously done it on the cheap, which never goes down well.
It's best to get the correct tow module and it's associated wiring, and programming done.

Or you can save shed loads on a LR tow kit and either unplug it when not in use (like the trailer) or don't let the wife drive the car ;)

I think I’ll just unplug it when not in use, to be honest.
Thing is, it’s a Land Rover tow bar. I can’t understand why it wasn’t done properly?

It has a 3 plug parking module, so has front and rear sensors.
However it doesn't have the trailer module, which would be next to the parking module.
That box isn't OE, and is probably best to fit the correct towing module and harness. ;)
